Brunswick Heads is a small community just north of Byron Bay. It has plenty of great places to eat and drink, lovely shops to visit and a gorgeous beach for building sand castles with your children. Brunswick Heads is very family friendly and during low tide the kids can swim and play in the river.

Lennox Heads Caravan Park
Lennox Head is located south of Byron Bay, only a short drive in your camper van. Lennox Head has spectacular coastal scenery, great surf and at Lake Ainsworth you can enjoy canoeing and kayaking.

Mullumbimby & Main Arm Camping, Camper and Caravan Park
If you drive your camper van 20 minutes inland from Byron Bay you reach Mullumbimby, an attractive small town at the foot of Mount Chicogan. The weekly Farmers Markets are a popular community event where you can hang out while being entertained by singers and performers. Mullumbimby has the annual Mullum Music Festival which is a very popular event.

If you are looking for a place to park you camper van during the Falls fest, Blues Fest or Splendour in the Grass, Macas Camping ground might be just the thing. You can leave your happy little camper there and take the shuttle bus they provide. It takes about half an hour drive to the music festivals.

Murwillumbah is a pretty country town at the Tweed River. It is the perfect location to camp for those who want to climb Mt Warning (Wollumbin) or visit the famous Regional Arts Gallery. There are plenty of choices in restaurants, cafes and boutiques.

Keep driving your happy little campervan inland from Uki and the beautiful windy road will take you to Nimbin – a colourful, quirky little hippy village nestled in the stunning Byron Bay Hinterland. It is a worthwhile destination. Nimbin has plenty of coffee shops, the Hemp Embassy, murals on the buildings to admire and a lovely markets.
